    The Charles Town Police Department is located in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and is the Municipal Law Enforcement Agency for the citizens of the City of Charles Town within Jefferson County. Through the years the Charles Town Police Department has maintained a strong force of trained, capable men and women who proudly serve their community. These professionals dedicate their lives to law enforcement in order to protect and serve the citizens within Jefferson County. In addition to their law enforcment duties, members of the Charles Town Police Department devote many hours in community service to schools, sports and special events.

    ORGANIZATION

    Chris Kutcher is Chief of Police

    The department is divided into two branches, Operational and Administrative, both of which are headed by Chief Kutcher and Captain Stevens. These branches are divided into three different bureaus, Patrol Operations, Criminal Investigations, and Administrative Support. Each of these bureaus are overseen by Lt Manning, Det Cpl Kerns, and Captain Stevens.

     

    Upcoming Events:

    The Charles Town Farmer's Market has begun and will be every Saturday from 7 AM - 12 Noon through October 13th and is now located in the 100 Blk of South Samuel St.

    The Charles Town Annual 5K Race for Recess will be on Saturday, May 19th at 830 AM - 930 AM. The annual 5K race is to benefit Wright Denny and Page Jackson Elementary Schools. The race will begin downtown and conclude at the Jefferson Memorial Park.

    The Lions Club roadside collection will be on Saturday, May 19th at 9 AM - 12 Noon at W Washington St & Samuel St. Please be patient and use due care during this time in the specified area as traffic will be stop and go for vehicles making donations to the cause.

    The Jefferson County Animal Control, Jefferson County Health Department, and Hillside Veterinary Hospital will be sponsoring a Rabies Vaccination Clinic on Saturday, May 19th at 10 AM - 1 PM. The rabies clinic will be held at Jefferson County Animal Control (161 Poor Farm Rd, Kearneysville). The clinic is only available to Jefferson County Residents Only (ID required). Cats and Dogs are welcome! Dogs must be on leashes and cats must be in carriers. The fee is $10 per animal and please bring cash only. For more information call Animal Control at 304.728.3289.

    Beginning Friday, June 1st at 6 PM - Saturday, June 9th at 10 PM the Oakland United Methodist Church will be hosting their annual festival "Oakfest 2012."

    1st Friday Night Concert series returns to the City of Charles Town and will be held on Friday, June 1st from 7 PM - 9 PM. The concert will be located at the 100 Blk of N Charles St in downtown Charles Town and this month's featured band is "The Fox Hunt." This location will be closed to vehicle traffic from 3 PM - 10 PM.

    We would like to invite the community to please sign up as a user with Nixle.
