How do I request police services?

The Charles Town Police Department provides police services in a variety of ways.  We prefer to have our officers dispatched thru Jefferson County Headquarters system.  The 91 1 center dispatches all police units in the county.  You may contact them one of two ways:

For non-emergency requests utilize 304 725 8484 to request a police unit.

For emergency requests dial 911 on your telephone.  Please utilize this number to report “in progress” or serious incidents only.

If you are in downtown Charles Town when the office is closed (or no police officer’s are present) and you require police assistance you may utilize the direct line to Jefferson County Headquarters.  This phone is located in a yellow call box on the right side of the police headquarters building.

During officer hours you may contact the police department directly at our number, 304 725 2714. Officers are not always present or able to answer the phone due to the nature of their duties.  Officers are always monitoring the police radio system and will always respond to a radio request from Jefferson County Headquarters.
