Mission Statement
In accordance with the laws of the City of Charles Town, the State of West Virginia, and the United States of America, the Charles Town Police Department provides for the general protection, safety and well-being of the residents, businesses, and visitors of the City of Charles Town, West Virginia.
We work in partnerships with all segments of the community and the citizenry to create and maintain the highest possible quality of life for the community. We do this through a proactive approach of prevention, deterrence, detection, and investigation of all criminal activity, as well as through our constant community interactions.

We, the Charles Town Police Department, are committed to providing the highest quality of police services to the people who live, work and visit our community. We will constantly evaluate and improve our efforts to enhance public safety with the goal of improving the quality of life within Charles Town, while at the same time maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity.
